Description:
The urgent need to introduce a Doctor of Philosophy in Education program specializing in pedagogy at Qassim University is confirmed due to the desire of large sectors of male and female students who have obtained a master's degree in education specializing in pedagogy or other disciplines from inside or outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to continue their postgraduate studies, in addition to the lack of programs offered in the same specialization in Saudi universities, which doubles the academic and professional responsibility on the program to provide the program at a high level of quality and proficiency; in accordance with international standards, as well as the program's contribution to meeting the needs of the labor market with scientific competencies.

1- Enabling those who hold a master's degree in education to continue their postgraduate studies in the field of pedagogy according to the latest curricula and technical and informational means to meet the needs of the labor market.
2- Developing students' research skills and qualifying them to participate in enriching human knowledge and how to apply it in various educational and educational sectors and organizations.
3- Contributing to the formulation, design, evaluation and implementation of educational policies and programs in educational institutions.
4- Producing scientific research in the field of pedagogy, addressing societal challenges and issues, and employing international expertise and experiences, in order to support sustainable development in Saudi society.

1- Analyzes the philosophical, cultural and social trends, concepts and theories of pedagogy, its various premises, and their implications for educational systems.
2- Abstracts the basic concepts of research methods, their characteristics and objectives, and the approaches and ethics of their application in analyzing and developing educational systems.
3- Classify the foundations and principles of contemporary educational thought, the criteria for its criticism and renewal, and the ability to recall scientific and educational theories and localize them in harmony with the Islamic identity of the society.
4- Identifies educational knowledge that contributes to solving societal issues and developing educational systems locally and internationally.
5- Characterize the educational and digital technologies needed to develop professional knowledge and transfer it to students so that they can diagnose, plan, organize, apply, and evaluate educational experiences and knowledge constructs in the field of pedagogy.
6- Deduce the local and global social factors and variables affecting the quality of educational systems.
