Master of Education in Special Education

Description:

Based on the teachings of the true Islamic religion, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has paid great attention to persons with disabilities, as it signed the International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and Saudi Vision 2030 emphasized the importance of promoting their educational, health and social rights, to ensure their integration as active members in a vibrant society that believes in the role of each individual in serving the nation and supporting its development and economic renaissance. The Department of Special Education was established in 1425-1426 H. At that time, it was affiliated with the College of Arabic Language and Social Studies: Mental Disability, Hearing Disability, and Visual Disability. With the opening of the College of Education at Qassim University in the academic year 1430/1429 A.H., the Department of Special Education was transferred to its affiliation, and the first batch of students graduated from the department in the same year. In continuation of the efforts to develop programs and study plans, a modern study plan was developed, which included expanding the scope of specializations to include seven tracks: - Mental Disability, Hearing Disability, Visual Disability, Learning Difficulties, Giftedness and Mental Excellence, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and Speech and Speech Disorders. The admission of female students to the department began in the academic year 1431/1430 H. Within the framework of academic expansion, the Master of Education in Special Education program was established in the academic year 1436/1435 H, including four tracks: Hearing Disability, Mental Disability, Learning Difficulties, and Giftedness and Mental Excellence. The department has submitted a proposal to create a Doctor of Philosophy program in special education, which includes ten different tracks. The department is also proud that the Master of Education in Special Education program received full accreditation from the Education and Training Evaluation Commission, as the first program at the level of Saudi universities to receive this accreditation.
