Overview
The Department of Curriculum and Instruction is affiliated with the College of Education, which was initially established as the Department of Education and Psychology in 1405 A.H. under the umbrella of the College of Arabic Language and Social Studies affiliated with the branch of Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University in Al-Qassim. After the issuance of the Royal Approval No. 7 / B / 22042 dated 10/5/1425 AH on the transformation of the branches of Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University and King Saud University in Qassim into Qassim University, the Department of Education and Psychology continued to be affiliated with the College of Arabic Language and Social Studies, until the Royal Approval No. 10209 / MB dated 12/30/1429 AH was issued to establish the College of Education at Qassim University to include seven departments, one of which is the Department of Curriculum and Teaching Methods that currently includes several graduate programs at the master's and doctoral levels. By the grace and success of Allah, the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the College of Education at Al-Qassim University was the first department to apply for programmatic accreditation at the level of the College of Education and similar departments in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, last year and the current year 1442 A.H. / 2020 A.C.
Objectives :
1. Preparing a generation of promising educational researchers to carry out applied research in the field of curricula and teaching methods, which contributes to solving educational issues through the postgraduate programs offered by the department.
2. Provide students with the foundations and principles of effective teaching and the latest teaching strategies, teaching planning processes, and the rules for applying and practicing teaching methods.
3. Developing the practices of those working in the educational field through: Providing expertise and advice to educational institutions, holding training courses in the fields of curricula and teaching methods, and participating in university and local community projects.
4. Cooperation with the Ministry of Education in building the field of evaluation and development of curricula and teaching methods.
5. Developing students' thinking skills to be able to solve the issues they face, in addition to developing self-learning skills to realize the concept of continuous education.
6. Working to develop educational awareness in the field of curricula and teaching methods in order to contribute to the development of society in accordance with contemporary scientific, educational and social trends.
