Overview
Data science is one of the most important and in-demand specializations locally and globally, given the world's developments and the big data revolution, and the significant importance it holds for countries, bodies, and institutions. The presence of specialists to deal with and analyze this data as required has made the existence of postgraduate programs in this field an urgent necessity. The wise government of Saudi Arabia has paid great attention to supporting and building a knowledge economy, investing in national talent, and keeping pace with the world in modern specializations to serve the labor market in the Kingdom and meet its requirements in line with Vision 2030 and development plans. Hence, the idea of establishing a Master of Science in Data Science program in the Information Technology Department came about, as part of a series of postgraduate programs offered by Qassim University, aligning with national and global trends to contribute to: – Keeping pace with the rapid developments in the field of data science. – Meeting the needs of the labor market with academically and scientifically qualified competencies. – Equipping graduates with the most important fundamental skills to help them deal with big data and design and produce high-quality programs and systems that offer appropriate economic and commercial solutions, leveraging best practices in the field. – Providing students with opportunities to hone their creative thinking, analytical, and scientific research skills, in addition to gaining experience through distinguished practical application.

Learning Objectives
1- Preparing students specialized in education, scientific research and professional development in the various fields of data science to implement development plans capable of providing scientific and training programs for workers in institutions and organizations as part of community service activities.
2- Preparing students for the labor market by providing them with advanced education that meets their needs and develops their expertise and abilities to obtain scientific and technical skills in the advanced and modern fields of data science and big data analysis.
3- Students acquire the skills of independent learning, long-term learning, entrepreneurship, and acquiring new advanced knowledge, as well as enabling them to master the use of technology and practice effective communication to contribute to solving issues.
4- Preparing highly qualified graduates equipped with advanced, deep and specialized knowledge in the field of data science.
5- Providing all industrial sectors and scientific institutions with specialized expertise and distinguished competencies as a tangible reality that supports the Kingdom's manpower.
