Overview
The first start of the department was in 1405 A.H. The Department of Education and Psychology was affiliated to the College of Arabic and Social Sciences at Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University in Qassim, then the Royal Decree was issued to establish the University of Qassim in 1425 AH, and the department was affiliated to the College of Arabic Language and Social Studies.) After that, the Royal Decree was issued to establish the College of Education in 1429 A.H., and one of its departments is the Department of Psychology. After the adoption of the new university structure, the department moved to join the College of Languages and Humanities.
Objectives :
The Department of Psychology seeks to achieve an integrated set of scientific objectives according to a specific educational policy that focuses on preparing specialists in the field of psychology in line with contemporary scientific trends, taking into account the actual needs of the current and future labor market, encouraging scientific research and postgraduate studies and developing them in line with contemporary scientific and technological development, focusing on interaction, integration and communication with society to ensure the dissemination of a sound psychological culture among its members, and the department's applied objectives can be summarized as follows:
✔ Prepare psychologists who are psychologically, educationally, and socially qualified to work in the different functional areas of psychology in schools, educational institutions, and psychosocial care institutions such as institutions for people with special needs, addiction treatment centers, and mental health hospitals
✔ Conducting joint theoretical and applied research with various relevant authorities to contribute to the development of psychological, social and educational services.
✔ Enrich psychological knowledge and provide appropriate solutions to psychological, behavioral, and social issues
Offering psychology courses in light of deepening Islamic concepts and encouraging authorship in this field.
✔ Providing specialized psychological and counseling consultations and services to university employees, male and female students, and to any citizen who sees them.
✔ Outside of the university, both counseling and guidance, diagnosis and treatment.
✔ Contributing to raising the level of competence of individuals by providing training courses in various psychological fields by giving public lectures based on invitations from
✔ Various governmental and non-governmental organizations achieve these goals.
✔ Contribute to the preparation of students in all other academic departments at the university and their program includes taking courses in psychology as part of their scientific, practical and professional preparation.
