His Excellency the President of Qassim University, Prof. Dr. Mohammed bin Fahd Al-Sharkh, sponsored today, Wednesday, September 16, 2026, the events of the “Healthcare Simulation Week 2026," organized by the university's Medical City and College of Medicine. The event includes a number of specialized programs and activities in healthcare simulation, in the presence of the Vice President for Educational Affairs, Dr. Fahd bin Suleiman Al-Ahmad, the Executive Director General of the Medical City, Dr. Khaled bin Fahd Al-Hussais, and the Dean of the College of Medicine, Dr. Humaidan Al-Humaidan.
His Excellency toured the accompanying exhibition at the Medical City, and was briefed on simulation scenarios for cardiac arrest and cardiopulmonary resuscitation, injuries using advanced moulage techniques to simulate wounds and trauma, examination of the pregnant mother's abdomen and condition assessment, in addition to community participation, initiatives, and accreditations.
His Excellency also visited the College of Medicine exhibition and was briefed on the advanced medical simulation laboratory, as well as the specialized clubs' offerings through their booths, which included lectures, simulation scenarios, training workshops, innovative initiatives in this field, and educational and training programs that contribute to developing the skills of healthcare practitioners and trainees, thereby helping to enhance patient safety and leverage simulation in medical education and assessment.
The Simulation Week aims to promote the culture of healthcare simulation, highlight its role in the development of medical education and training, enhance the efficiency of healthcare practitioners and trainees, and boost patient safety and healthcare quality. In addition, it seeks to develop teamwork, decision-making, and crisis management skills through training in safe and realistic educational environments.
The events highlight the employment of artificial intelligence and modern technologies in developing simulation, education, and health training experiences, contributing to the advancement of educational and training practices and the improvement of the quality of health outcomes, in fulfillment of the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
