Providing advanced educational and research programs in the field of animal and poultry production to prepare specialized national competencies that meet the needs of the labor market and contribute to serving society and the environment and developing livestock and poultry to achieve food security from animal products.
Overview
The department is concerned with studying the fields of animal and poultry production, including nutrition, breeding, physiology, care and production of animals and poultry. The department studies the genetic improvement of agricultural animals and poultry and the development of breeds suitable for the environmental conditions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as the study of modern methods of managing animal and poultry production projects and farms. The department also seeks to achieve educational and research objectives that serve the development plans for livestock in the Kingdom. The study plans in the department are designed to cover all academic and applied concepts in animal and poultry production sciences in addition to other agricultural sciences intertwined with animal and poultry production sciences to form a basic pillar in qualifying graduates to manage animal and poultry production projects as entrepreneurs. The department also conducts research that contributes to the development of livestock in the Kingdom, in addition to its participation in serving the environment and society and finding appropriate solutions to emerging issues. The department offers a master's degree program in animal production and poultry production that focuses on precise specializations that develop the student in the field of scientific and cognitive research.
Objectives :
1- Developing human capacities in the field of animal and poultry production.
2- Developing academic programs and training skills to graduate qualified and distinguished national competencies in the field of animal and poultry production.
3- Developing scientific research to support the advancement of livestock and poultry production.
4- Activating the institutional community partnership with various entities related to the field of animal and poultry production.
