Mission
Preparing national cadres who are aware of geographical and environmental issues and contemporary issues, and developing research skills and talents of criticism and analysis in the field of geographical studies, enabling society to achieve a qualitative leap in the knowledge and social field locally, regionally and globally.
Overview
The Department of Geography was established in 1402 A.H., within the departments of the College of Arabic and Social Sciences. In 1424 A.H., the department became part of the College of Arabic Language and Social Studies, after the issuance of the Royal Decree No. 7/B/2242 dated 10/5/1424 A.H., which merged the branches of Imam Muhammad Bin Saud Islamic University and King Saud University in Qassim under the shadow of one university, Qassim University, and the College of Arabic Languages and Humanities became one of the faculties of this prestigious university.
Objectives :
Studying the environment with the aim of understanding its issues and ways to address them.
Expanding the scope of geographical studies to serve the country and the nation.
Contributing to the enrichment of human knowledge through specialized geographical studies and serious scientific research.
Graduating qualified cadres to teach in public education schools.
Qualifying cadres capable of enriching geographical knowledge and codifying it according to an authentic scientific methodology.
