His Excellency Prof. Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, UQU President, inaugurated the new headquarters of the Center for Sustainable Development at the university today, Thursday, 24/8/1439 H. During the inauguration, His Excellency directed the launch of the Environmental Innovation and Excellence Award for male and female students, and expressed his admiration for the sections of the headquarters, which took into account many requirements commensurate with the nature of the center's objectives.
Al-Dawood met with the members of the Executive Committee and praised the achievements of the Center during the current year, including the preparation of term sheets for the implementation of a package of projects of the university's strategic plan directly related to the development and investment frameworks in the Qassim region, hoping for the success of these projects, given the continuous support received by the Center and the membership of a number of prominent members from inside and outside the university, headed by His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Meshal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz.
For his part, the Director of the Center for Sustainable Development, Mr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al-Rubadi, confirmed that among the center's achievements is the establishment of a voluntary sustainability unit. He pointed out that the center received direct support from the President to establish a sustainable development award dedicated to university students, guided by several tracks, which will be announced at the beginning of the next academic year.
During the inauguration of the center, the eleventh executive committee meeting was held, which discussed the scientific events to be implemented in addition to the community services provided by the center and the field visits made by the members of the executive committee to introduce the center's vision, mission, goals and initiatives in sustainable development, as well as the future projects of the center.
