The university continues to provide its various programs as part of its second comprehensive campaign held this year under the slogan "Awareness, Health and Education" in Aqlah Al-Suqur Governorate and neighboring villages, where the number of beneficiaries of the medical services that were provided to the people of the governorate in the main camp, schools and mosques of the campaign reached more than 1079 male and female beneficiaries for the second day.
165 people benefited from training programs, while 300 people benefited from awareness and educational programs in schools, and the number of beneficiaries from mosque programs reached 250 beneficiaries, while 841 people watched entertainment and theatrical programs, 110 people participated in sports programs, and the number of visitors in the evening period reached about 600 beneficiaries, with a total of more than 3300 beneficiaries during two days of the campaign, which is held for 7 days.
The Medical Laboratory Department provided a number of important tests, numbering 55 clinical tests. These laboratory tests were conducted for both sick and healthy visitors to the site, and included a complete blood picture test to determine the number of white and red blood cells and platelets, determine the value of blood hemoglobin, and test lipids, blood gases and their enzymes. The laboratory also performs an examination of diabetics during a medical and random fasting period and determines the percentage of glycated hemoglobin over the previous three months, in addition to examining urine chemically and microscopically and identifying urinary deposits of crystals and others.
While the oral health program is concerned with explaining oral diseases such as caries and gum issues, as the main program in this specialization aims to educate and prevent diseases and apply fluoride for children to protect against caries, in addition to providing treatment for patients. The campaign's dental clinic treated 321 cases in schools and the main camp with the participation of students and the supervision of consultants and academics from the Faculty of Dentistry at the university.
The university also dedicated a corner to pediatric clinics, which provides awareness brochures, general examination and periodic measurements to ensure the health safety of children. For its part, the ENT clinic examined more than 11 patients on the first day of the campaign, where common conditions were diagnosed under the supervision of specialized consultants, and the eye clinic received 14 beneficiaries, where during the clinic period, visitors are examined to detect common diseases such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, deviation, cataracts, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy.
The corner also provides consultations and health education for most common eye diseases, and the visual examination clinic received about 170 people through several visits, including schools, where all patients were measured, diagnosed, and identified their needs for nearsightedness or farsightedness. The College of Pharmacy set up a pharmaceutical education corner that included three sections. The first section dealt with the dangers of addiction and included awareness information on the most prominent addictive substances and their harms, while the second section provided pharmaceutical and pharmaceutical consultations to visitors regarding a number of pharmaceutical forms and their active substances. The third and final section specialized in herbs and natural substances, providing comprehensive information on the most prominent herbs and natural substances, whether in the form of single or mixed herbs, benefiting 96 people. The nursing clinic also measured blood pressure, sugar, ECG, weight, height and other measurements related to the health of visitors, and the number of beneficiaries reached about 104 people.
On the other hand, the food and health awareness corner of the colleges of: Agriculture and Clinical Nutrition at the College of Ras and Health Sciences and the College of Public Health and Health Information in Bakiriyah provide visitors with a comprehensive awareness of nutrition and its behaviors. The specialists in the corner also explain the dangers of fast food, its harms and the diseases it causes, and provide specialized dietary consultations to benefit more than 90 people, while the internal clinic examines and diagnoses cases and provides awareness and education about internal diseases, where more than 64 people benefited from it, and some cases were referred to specialized hospitals to receive the necessary treatment.
The campaign did not forget to benefit government departments, security sectors, productive families and government agencies with training courses that included several aspects, including: Sharia, social and educational courses, which benefited 165 people. The campaign staff are also working to activate the axes of youth and sports by holding the "Qassim University Cup" for football and organized participation for the teams of Al-Aqla governorate and its neighboring villages, in which 110 players participated. On the legal side, the campaign programs included 16 mosques that benefited 255 beneficiaries on the importance of the family, reforming people, raising awareness about legal regurgitation, Muslim rights, raising children, and other programs offered by the campaign.
The entertainment programs also included a theater accompanying the competitions, promoting poetry and chanting, and offering draws and prizes in the presence of 841 people. It is worth mentioning that the university designed the programs and events to suit the needs and desires of the governorate through continuous meetings with officials before its launch. The objectives of the campaign are to promote Islamic values, instill belonging to the homeland, protect young people from extremist ideas, raise the level of personal skills, strengthen family cohesion and take care of the health of all visitors.
