Al-Dawood inaugurates the Graduate Studies headquarters in Economics
His Excellency Professor Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, the University President, opened the Graduate Studies headquarters at the College of Business and Economics yesterday morning, Wednesday, at the University City building in Al-Mulaida. His Excellency listened to a detailed explanation of the headquarters, which was established on an area of 800 square meters. He also inspected its equipment, departments, halls, and capabilities, in the presence of the Dean of the College of Business and Economics, Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Othaib, and a number of college professors.
His Excellency expressed his admiration for the new headquarters and directed the opening of parallel education tracks in the evening, as well as the cancellation of the English proficiency requirement for parallel education, in order to accommodate a larger number of postgraduate students and provide an opportunity for those who were not fortunate enough to be admitted to the main programs. "Al-Dawood" also directed those in charge of postgraduate studies to agree with publishing houses on printing and translating the necessary books and references for students, after reviewing the college's efforts in translating 140 books and authoring 20 books in previous years.
The headquarters inaugurated by His Excellency contains 3 classrooms, equipped with the latest audio-visual technologies and an electronic linking system, and a trading lab that is in the process of obtaining a license from the Capital Market Authority. The headquarters has also been equipped with two meeting rooms, administrative offices, a student cafe, and a special reading corner stocked with specialized books in economics and management, in addition to being equipped with a studio and cameras for filming educational materials.
It is mentioned that 1,200 students applied for the postgraduate studies program in the College of Economics and Administration at Qassim University this year, and 120 students were accepted. The college offers 4 programs in the specializations of Business Administration (MBA), a Master of Science in Finance, a Master of Science in Economics, and a Master of Science in Accounting.
