First International Pharmacy Conference at Qassim University concludes with a number of recommendations and forms a committee to implement them

The activities of the First International Conference on Clinical Pharmacy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which was organized by the College of Pharmacy at Qassim University, which lasted for three days and included scientific lectures and workshops specialized in the developments and prospects of clinical pharmacology and modern applications and trends, with an accompanying exhibition, was concluded. The conference was opened under the patronage of His Excellency the President of Qassim University, Prof. Dr. Khaled bin Abdulrahman Al-Hamoudi, at King Khalid Civilization Center in Buraidah in the presence of the Vice President of King Saud University for Planning and Quality and Dean of the College of Pharmacy at the former King University, Professor Yusuf Asiri and President of the Pharmaceutical Society of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prof.
For his part, the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Dr. Mansour Al-Sharida, confirmed that the conference came out during its scientific sessions with a number of recommendations, most notably the use of modern means and techniques and international standards that ensure the safe and proper use of medicines and reduce medication errors, especially high-risk medicines, as well as the application of quality standards recommended by the most famous international health organizations to ensure the highest quality in the field of pharmaceutical care and support scientific research at universities and research centers to adopt new ideas in clinical pharmacy and involve different disciplines in scientific research directed by a partnership between educational entities. Also, work to develop the skills of practitioners in the field of clinical pharmacy through continuous pharmacy education and regulated training in cooperation between health authorities and work to apply the standards provided by international pharmaceutical associations and organizations for clinical pharmacy residency programs and seek to obtain international recognition from this international organization and demand to increase fellowship and residency programs in clinical pharmacy to meet the existing need in the labor market and review pharmaceutical guides and protocols and require all clinical pharmacists to read and review them periodically.
