UQU President Prof. Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood affirmed that the selection of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, to be awarded the George Tenet Medal of Excellence presented by the US Central Intelligence Agency for distinguished intelligence work in the field of combating terrorism and achieving international peace and security, confirming the clear and indisputable fact of the efforts exerted by His Royal Highness through the proactive operations in which the sectors of the Ministry of Interior succeeded, which generally confirms the efforts made by the Kingdom to combat terrorism and its firm stance against. 

This international accolade for His Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayef confirms the level of success achieved by His Highness and the Saudi security team in thwarting a number of despicable terrorist operations carried out by rogue terrorist organizations, primarily ISIS and Al-Qaeda, and demonstrates the effectiveness and robustness of the security strategy that is implemented jointly with security personnel by male and female citizens who, through their multiple positions in the face of terrorism, embody the highest values of true citizenship, love of the homeland, defense of its gains and its spiritual place in the hearts of Muslims. 

On the level of security efforts, the Kingdom has succeeded in directing pre-emptive strikes and thwarting most of the terrorist operations that targeted various locations inside the Kingdom, and the valiant security men have succeeded in penetrating the second circle of those who hold the misguided ideology, namely sympathizers and financiers of terrorism, and have arrested many of them. On the organizational level, the Kingdom has issued many regulations and strict measures aimed at curbing the terrorist phenomenon, such as the "Penal System for Terrorist Crimes". In addition to enacting the Anti-Money Laundering Law and its executive regulations to regulate the provisions of criminalizing terrorist financing operations, and establishing a financial investigation unit (FIU)to deal with terrorist financing and money laundering, regulate the work of charitable associations, define their geographical scope of work, and subject them to periodic monitoring and accountability. 

At the intellectual and preventive level, the Kingdom has launched several initiatives to eliminate deviant ideology and terrorist acts. In conjunction with the International Counter-Terrorism Conference, the Kingdom organized a national solidarity campaign to combat terrorism in various regions of the Kingdom, in which all educational and security sectors participated, to raise public awareness in support of cooperation among members of Saudi society aimed at countering terrorist operations, strengthening the sense of belonging and defense of the homeland and combating extremism, which is rejected by the Islamic religion, and the educational and media authorities began organizing programs aimed at expanding the dissemination of the moderation and moderation approach and highlighting the tolerance of the teachings of Islam..    

This symbolic award cuts off any despicable attempts that seek to minimize the Kingdom's efforts, actions and programs in fighting terrorism and organized violence, and proves that the Kingdom is on the right path towards eliminating and fighting terrorism, may God protect our homeland, give victory to our soldiers, have mercy on our martyrs, heal our wounded and maintain our security and safety under our wise leadership.
