A doctoral thesis at Qassim University won the Union of Arab Universities Award for the best doctoral thesis in the field of basic and applied sciences. Dr. Hadeel Mohammed Al-Fouzan, a graduate of the Department of Geography from the College of Languages and Humanities at Qassim University, won the award for her thesis, which discussed the role of small industries in achieving sustainable development in the Qassim region using geographical analysis and modern digital technologies.
The award came in the field of basic and applied sciences on the use of modern digital technology to achieve sustainable development goals within the framework of the green economy and its impact on human health, through her thesis entitled "Small industries and their role in achieving sustainable development in the Qassim region," which she prepared under the supervision of Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Dughairi, professor of geography at Qassim University.
This achievement is the culmination of the university's scientific efforts and the result of the outstanding research effort that was exerted. It is also a qualitative knowledge addition that keeps pace with the latest developments in the field of geography. The thesis was selected after a strong scientific competition among the participating Arab universities, and was honored during the 57th session of the General Conference of the Union of Arab Universities, held in Kuwait.
