The College of Medical Rehabilitation held the "Fourth Scientific Research Forum" for the college students on Monday, under the patronage of His Excellency Prof. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, President of the University, in the presence of His Excellency the UQU Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Mohammed bin Fahad Al-Sharekh, His Excellency the UQU Vice President for Educational Affairs, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Sawei, His Excellency the UQU Vice President for Planning, Development and Quality, Prof. Khalid bin Bani Al-Harbi, and Dr. Nawal bint Saleh Al Thuwaini, and a number of deans and staff of the college, as well as a number of male and female deans.
The forum included 11 scientific lectures and 25 research posters by the college students, and addressed a number of topics, including: Neurological rehabilitation and stroke patients, musculoskeletal rehabilitation and sports injuries, the role of physiotherapy and medical rehabilitation in cardiopulmonary patients, advanced topics in the field of medical rehabilitation, and how to access the latest scientific research and provide health care through evidence-based practice.
On her part, the Dean of the College, Dr. Ashwaq bint Saleh Al-Sharida, explained that since its inception, the university has always strived to achieve and consolidate ambitious goals and strategies. As an extension of these goals and out of its belief in the importance of development and excellence, and to achieve the strategies set by the university administration, the university has paid great attention to the aspect of scientific research. Based on the vision and mission of the college, and in line with the strategic direction and goal of the university, the college was keen to motivate researchers from faculty members and students to conduct original innovative research that contributes to enriching knowledge and serving society.
She added: This year's participation increased by 90% compared to previous years, as the scientific committee studied the entries and approved 25 research posters and 11 scientific lectures presented by female students, graduates, and faculty members.
