His Excellency the President of Qassim University visited the Saudi Cultural Attaché in Washington during his official visit to the United States of America, where he met with the Cultural Attaché at the Embassy of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in Washington, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Issa, appreciating during the meeting his interest and his colleagues in the attaché in pushing the wheel of Saudi scholarship, whether through the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques program or through government agencies, including universities, pointing out that the efforts of the attaché are appreciated and reflect the leadership's concern for its scholarship students.
For his part, Dr. Al-Issa welcomed His Excellency, stressing that Qassim University represents an exemplary model in enhancing communication, whether for the sake of its scholarship students or by informing the attaché of its partnerships with American universities. He pointed out the importance of coordinating with the attaché in case of the desire to sign agreements and contracts for cooperation with educational institutions or others in the states, in order to protect Saudi universities or other parties offering these types of partnerships, indicating that the attaché studies these agreements carefully through legal specialists to avoid any obstacles or financial and other issues that Saudi institutions, whether governmental or private, may fall into.
The Saudi Cultural Attaché praised Qassim University's step in signing such an agreement with a prestigious university such as Michigan State University, which is one of the oldest universities in the United States, noting that it is a good agreement that will serve the university, God willing, and provide the desired benefit for the programs of the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, students and faculty members.
The meeting included a tour inside the halls and facilities of the attaché and its various corners, and the delegation was briefed on a number of developmental steps at the attaché aimed at serving students, scholars and expatriates in general.
At the end of the meeting, His Excellency presented the university's shield to Dr. Al-Issa before concluding the meeting with a luncheon ceremony prepared by the Attaché on this occasion, in the presence of the university delegation and a number of officials at the Attaché.
