The University won the Local Content Award in its first edition for the year 2022, and achieved second place in the government entities track in the medium and low spending category among 130 government entities, during the ceremony held in Riyadh yesterday evening, Wednesday, January 25, 2023, in the presence of a number of Their Excellencies and Excellencies.
His Excellency Prof. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, President of the University, received the award from His Excellency Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources and Chairman of the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority. This award aims to motivate the public and private sectors, suppliers and companies in particular, to increase local content in various sectors and develop their performance in implementing contracts and projects, in order to enhance local capabilities and maximize the benefit of national purchasing power to build a strong and sustainable economy.
