11685 - On the occasion of World Teacher's Day UQU organizes a panel discussion titled "Transformation in Education Starts with the Teacher"

The university, represented by the College of Education, organized an educational seminar on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, on the occasion of World Teachers" Day, titled "Transformation in Education Begins with the Teacher." The event was attended by a number of teachers, university staff, and students at the main campus in the university city.

 

The discussion session, moderated by Professor Dr. Abdul Azim Saud Al-Otaibi, addressed several key themes. Professor Dr. Jubair Suleiman Al-Harbi presented on the first theme, "The Role of Teachers in Educational Transformation," discussing the teacher's status, their role in educational transformation, the school's role in preparing generations, reasons for educational transformation, the importance of digital transformation, the philosophy underlying transformation, its expected benefits, requirements for transitioning from traditional to digital learning, and the characteristics and roles of teachers in digital transformation. Dr. Ahmed bin Abdullah Al-Suwaiket, meanwhile, addressed the theme of "Challenges of Educational Transformation," reviewing the challenges of educational transformation in the Kingdom, including challenges in teacher preparation, enhancing competency, secondary school tracks, and continuous education.

 

 

 

The third axis, titled "Requirements for Transformation in Education," was presented by Dr. Sulaiman Saleh Al-Musaitir. He discussed the requirements for educational transformation and the challenges and shifts the world is undergoing. He highlighted several characteristics of transformation, the qualities of a modern teacher, and the needs of contemporary educators. Meanwhile, the fourth axis, "The Future of Education and the Teaching Profession," was presented by Professor Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Al-Ghadouni. He spoke about the future of education and the teaching profession, preparation, and the philosophy of educational and teaching terms and the future. He clarified the pillars of the future of education and the teaching profession, and the characteristics and goals of future education.
