University aims to plant 15,000 trees in the ninth phase of the "Qassim Green Earth" campaign

On Wednesday, 20/8/1443 A.H., the University, represented by the Deanship of Student Affairs, in cooperation with the General Administration of Maintenance at the University, launched its participation in the ninth phase of the "Qassim Green Earth" initiative, launched by His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Meshal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Emir of Qassim, in conjunction with the Environment Week, which includes planting more than 15 thousand trees with the participation of more than 60 male and female students.

 

His Excellency Prof. Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, President of the University, also opened the accompanying exhibition, which includes 18 corners, with the participation of the General Administration of Maintenance and Services, the Sustainability Center, the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, voluntary clubs and student sustainability at the Deanship of Student Affairs, including a review of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's efforts in combating desertification and the initiative of His Highness the Crown Prince "Saudi Green" and the "Green Middle East" initiative.

 

The various corners of the exhibition discuss the university's efforts and the efforts of students to preserve the environment and national gains, as well as identifying the appropriate environment for agriculture, tree diseases and ways to preserve them, the harms of illegal logging and the use of alternative firewood, in addition to reviewing information about His Highness the Emir of Qassim Region's "Qassim Green Land" campaign from its beginning until it reached this stage.
