The Vice President of Al-Qassim University for Academic Affairs, Professor Dr. Ahmed bin Saleh Al-Tami, praised the initiative of the College of Economics and Management at the university to launch the first alumni forum. The forum was held last Thursday in the college's lobby, with the attendance of dozens of college alumni from the past 33 years, which represents the college's age.

Dr. Al-Tami confirmed that this initiative would build bridges of communication with graduates and their employers, activate the connection and partnership between the college and its graduates and their employers, and activate the role of graduates in developing college programs and involving them in raising the level of skills provided to students, in addition to opening new horizons for opportunities and areas of cooperation for the continuous improvement of the college. It also aims to inform graduates of scientific developments reached by the college, such as conferences, seminars, and scientific journals, alongside activating the role of graduates in building the college's policies and strategic goals.

The forum included an address by the Dean of the College, Dr. Obaid Al Mutairi, who emphasized that the college rejects being a traditional college and always pushes for positive change in all areas. He reviewed the history, stages, and development of the college, noting that the forum comes as the college celebrates 33 years since its establishment, during which approximately 4,300 male and female students have graduated. He also mentioned that the college has received initial international academic accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

Dr. Ahmed bin Saleh Al-Tuwaijri delivered the graduates' speech, in which he commended the college's initiative to build bridges of communication with its alumni by activating partnerships with them and their employers, which contributes to enhancing the role of male and female graduates in developing the college. He wished the college and the university in general further progress and success.

During the forum, the stages of the college's development were reviewed, and several workshops were held through which the college sought to come up with recommendations and ideas that achieve the goal of holding this forum.

Professor Hind Bint Sulaiman Al-Hamza, director of the first Alumni Forum and chairwoman of the Conferences Committee at the College of Economics and Management, indicated that the Alumni Forum represents the link between the graduate and the college, as it is the scientific stronghold from which they launched into professional life. The college aspires to strengthen these bonds between itself and its graduates through newly established channels, the most important of which is the planned launch of an Alumni Council soon. The college will also open avenues for graduates to participate in college activities, while not holding back in providing them with the latest developments in their academic fields. She expressed hope that this forum will continue for years to come to bear its fruits and achieve its results, God willing.

Professor Hind Al-Hamza pointed out that the forum concluded with several recommendations, including the establishment of an alumni association (”Advisory Council“), in addition to strengthening relations with alumni and transforming them from informal to formal. It also includes the graduate's contribution to community development, characterized by positivity and continuous productivity, launching an initiative to provide career counseling courses from college alumni holding important positions in society, and working to continue organizing and holding this forum annually while ensuring its achievement of strategic goals. .

The forum also included a review of several success stories of college alumnae, starting with Saba Al-Arini, the regional manager of Al Rajhi Bank and a college alumna from years ago. She praised the forum and the achievements it will bring, strengthening the connection between alumnae and their college, as well as the recommendations and survey results that will benefit students and the college alike.

The Director of the Civil Service in Qassim and a college graduate, Noura Al-Merdasi, highlighted the college's positive role in propelling her towards practical life. She emphasized the importance of communication with the university to learn about scientific developments in all different specializations. Additionally, she stressed the importance of activating the role of male and female graduates in contributing to the college's development and serving the community with supportive studies and ideas.

Reem Al-Jameh, Deputy of Financial and Administrative Affairs at the Education Department of Qassim, extended thanks to the current and former members of the teaching staff. She addressed the graduates who are not yet employed but aspire to be, saying, “Whoever says there are no jobs, or that jobs are difficult or hard to obtain, is incorrect.” Based on her work experience, she stated that a graduate and even an employed person only needs two things: first, a sincere intention to work and dedication; second, one must prepare themselves for the job and work in various capacities, including volunteer work. One should not stop at a certain limit. .

Graduate Asmaa Al-Azaz, an employee in a government sector, indicated that through her progression in government employment, she was able to achieve her professional success, reaching the head of a department. She always looks forward to enhancing her professional role in addition to her societal role, which she offered to the community through her practical experience in the voluntary field, where she found benefit and blessing. She urged female graduates and students to connect with charitable organizations and work in available volunteer fields in their communities to gain successful social relationships and sufficient professional experience. .

The Director of the Oversight and Investigation Authority in the Qassim region, a graduate of the college, expressed her sincere thanks to a number of faculty members, who are a beautiful example of the meanings of giving. She stated that the university meant to her the familial and societal homeland, which had a great impact on her current professional work. She attributed her success to God, then to perseverance, diligent effort, and honest work.

Reem Al-Fahad, Director of the Arab National Bank, expressed her thanks for the presence and for recalling the memory of graduation, which was the starting point for her journey into work and the banking profession, from customer service and transitions to a number of banks, and managing two branches until she obtained a certified trainer certificate. This is another avenue for personal development and skill enhancement, and not settling for professional expertise alone. .

Graduate Mona Al-Harbi, Financial Official at the Ministry of Education, spoke of her happiness at being invited, along with her fellow graduates, to express her success in her professional field and in her successful experience as a member of the Association for the Care of the Disabled. .

The graduate Fatima Al-Waliei, trainer at the Intellectual Energy Center in Qassim, also thanked the college for hosting and inviting her back. She recounted her professional success, which she achieved by the grace of God and then thanks to the good example of the college's professors. She did not hesitate to give the attendees a quick training session to invigorate their minds and bodies. .

At the conclusion of the forum, the college, represented by Ms. Hind Al-Hamza, the head of the committee and director of the first Alumni Forum, honored a number of the college's vice-deans, the Dean of the Center, and outstanding female graduates for presenting their professional experiences.
