The medical team at the Interventional Radiology Unit at King Fahd Specialist Hospital in Buraidah, led by Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Gharas, Consultant of Interventional Radiology, succeeded in saving the life of a patient who suffered chest bleeding after a traumatic accident, as the team was able to perform a successful qualitative operation to install a large stent in the thoracic aorta by catheterization.
Dr. Al-Gharas explained that the patient came to the hospital and it was confirmed that he suffered from chest bleeding and aneurysm due to a painful accident, and he was diagnosed using a diagnostic CT scan, where it was found that he needed a catheter, and the operation was performed for him, and the procedure took less than two hours and was successful.
He pointed out that the most important characteristic of catheterization operations is that they are performed through a very small opening in the thigh or wrist, with fewer complications and side effects than traditional operations, with rapid recovery, thanking all members of the medical team of doctors and nurses participating in the operation in the hospital's interventional radiology department for their efforts in its success, and thanking the hospital administration for its support and interest in providing all the capabilities to perform such operations and being fully prepared for such emergencies.
