The University, represented by the College of Applied Medical Sciences, signed a cooperation agreement with the Dami Association under the patronage and presence of His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Meshal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Qassim Region and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Friends of Blood Banks Charity Association (Dami), at his office at the Emirate's headquarters, on Monday.
His Highness was received by the University President, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Dawood, the Secretary of the Region, member of the Board of Directors of the DAMI Association, Eng.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Ahmed Al-Turki, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, and Dr. Faisal Al-Khamis, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors.
H.H. the Emir of Qassim Region listened to a briefing on the objectives and benefits of the agreement, in order to raise awareness among the community about the importance of voluntary donation, by holding awareness programs on occasions, events and social networking sites, cooperating in the field of training and qualification between the two parties, and benefiting from the services of the university in preparing research, studies and scientific consultations in the field of developing blood donation, transfusion medicine and blood diseases globally in Qassim in particular and in the Kingdom in general.
During the meeting, UQU President expressed the university's aspirations to serve the nation and fulfill its great social responsibility by participating in various qualitative programs in the fields of the association, such as voluntary blood donation and blood diseases, and contributing to enhancing community awareness of blood diseases and their prevention among different segments of society. He thanked His Highness Prince Faisal bin Meshal for his support and constructive cooperation in this agreement, praying to Allah to write this in his good balance and grant him success in what is good and guiding.
For his part, the Executive Director of the "My Blood" Association, Hamoud Al-Bati, thanked His Highness the Emir of Qassim for his patronage and guidance of the association, noting its contribution with the competent authorities in providing health and counseling services for anemia patients.
His Highness the Emir of Qassim expressed his thanks to the university for its good initiative by signing this agreement to educate the medical community on the importance of voluntary blood donation, and to cooperate with the My Blood Association in spreading and developing the culture of blood donation and educating the community about it and the different segments of the university environment and various segments of society, hoping that the private sector will activate its social and charitable role for the benefit of all.
