His Excellency the President of Qassim University, Prof. Khalid bin Abdulrahman Al-Hamoudi, inaugurated the activities of the MEDIS International Conference 2014 which is organized by the College of Economics and Administration at Qassim University in cooperation with the American Computer Society during the period from 20-22/11/1435 AH with the participation of a group of specialized professors from different parts of the world at the Mövenpick Hotel in Buraydah.
Opening the conference sessions, His Excellency said:
The university's hosting of this international conference comes in response to its responsibility towards the latest development issues represented in building and investing knowledge. The university is honored to organize this conference with the American Computer Society (ACS) to be a field for learning about scientific and practical experiences specialized in technology and building advanced information systems, and a contributor to the development of methods of ecosystems.(Eco-System) It is the cornerstone of building a knowledge society built on innovation.
He went on to say: The state is keen on transferring and utilizing knowledge as the most important component of the knowledge economy. Our Saudi universities have found the opportunity to start from where others have ended, in fulfillment of the noble directives that scientific research and building human beings should have a high priority.

As His Excellency emphasized that The university is keen on continuous improvement of its programs and considers this a practical translation of the university's vision and mission to prepare qualified students according to the latest standards, and the university confirms its continuous commitment to support the university colleges to upgrade their programs and graduates, and this is confirmed by the university obtaining the national institutional academic accreditation from the National Authority for Measurement and EvaluationNCAAA as the third public university to receive national academic accreditation.
In an opening speech, Dr. Obaid Al-Mutairi, dean of the college and head of the conference organizing committee, pointed out that the readiness to host and organize this conference Sixth International of the American Computer Society ACM (Medis 2014) It started a year and a half ago as an initiative of the university's faculty as part of its mission and strategic plan to contribute to contemporary development issues.

The conference will discuss over 9 main sessions and two workshops, within its scientific program, more than (30) thirty topics presented by nearly fifty experts and keynote speakers invited from outside and inside the Kingdom, in addition to a group of professionals, academics, decision makers, private sector leaders and media professionals, and we hope that their participation and ideas will contribute to enriching the discussions and deliberations of the conference, as well as the participation of women from Saudi universities and outside the Kingdom, whose presentations addressed innovation in systems and information technology.
