The university, represented by the Deanship of Community Service, concluded the second week of virtual summer programs today, Wednesday, 17/11/1441 AH. The programs included many virtual activities, competitions, and sessions presented by a group of specialized academics from the university's faculty members and others. The aim was to utilize the free time of the target groups. The total number of training and educational hours for this week reached 24 training hours, benefiting approximately 802 male and female participants.
During the second week's activities, Professor Dr. Abdul Aziz bin Suleiman Al-Muzaini, a faculty member at the College of Sharia, delivered an easy-to-understand interpretation of the second quarter of the thirtieth part over three days, for two hours daily. He covered skills for memorization, retention, and reviewing what has been memorized. A public speaking and presentation skills program was also held in the virtual Talent and Creativity Hall, aiming to train participants in public speaking and presentation skills. This program consisted of six training hours spread over three days, with two hours daily. The program addressed three main themes: the fundamental skills of public speaking and presentation, presented by Dr. Fahd bin Ali Al-Sudeis, a faculty member at the College of Arabic Language and Social Studies. The second and third themes covered "The Use of Verbal and Non-Verbal Communication" and "Strategies for Overcoming Stage Fright," presented by Dr. Saleh bin Mohammed Al-Saab, a faculty member at the College of Arabic Language and Social Studies. The number of beneficiaries who participated in the program was 182.
As part of this week's programs, the e-commerce program was conducted in the virtual enrichment hall over three separate training days, with two hours daily. The program began with a course on the reliability of e-commerce websites, presented by Dr. Mohannad bin Ali Al-Suwailem, a faculty member at the College of Economics and Management, in which he demonstrated how to identify reliable shopping websites. Dr. Dirar Al-Mahi Al-Obaid, a faculty member at the College of Economics and Management, presented a course on product selection and comparison skills. At the end of the program, Dr. Mohannad bin Ali Al-Suwailem, a faculty member at the College of Economics, presented a course on "Website Policies and Risks of Online Shopping." The number of attendees for this program reached 125 male and female beneficiaries.
The virtual "Colorful Horizons" hall hosted three different programs over three days. On Sunday, 11/14/1441 AH, an open forum titled "Your Path to Graduate Studies" was held, presented by Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Deghairi, Dean of the Deanship of Graduate Studies. The forum was attended by 176 participants. On Monday, 11/15/1441 AH, an interactive cultural competition was conducted, offering 60 instant prizes, with 129 participants. On Tuesday, 11/16/1441 AH, the first finals of the talent program competitions were held, showcasing the artworks of the drawing track participants in a live interactive broadcast. Five contestants competed in these finals, and the event was attended by 81 participants.
This week's activities concluded with a general workshop titled "Financial Management for the Household: Between Basic Needs and Extravagance," held on Wednesday, 10/06/2020, and lasting three hours. This workshop aimed to introduce beneficiaries to sound financial household management skills. The workshop was presented by Dr. Dirar Al-Mahy Al-Obaid, a university faculty member, and was attended by 89 beneficiaries.
