The University, represented by the College of Medicine and Medical Sciences in Onaiza, continues to implement its "Consult Your Doctor at Home" initiative by providing voluntary virtual clinics, which are run by faculty members in various medical specialties, with the participation of a number of specialists from the college in various disciplines.
The statistics of the initiative since its launch on Sunday, 26/8/1441 AH, included the implementation of 107 medical clinics, in 13 different medical specialties, with the participation of 32 specialized doctors, who provided their services to 407 patients, as well as the initiative received more than 700 text messages and responded to them, and more than 800 messages Appropriate medical consultations were provided for each case, as the consultations included 7 referrals to the hospital, 99 prescriptions were dispensed, more than 160 hours of counseling were provided, and the number of patients from outside the Qassim region reached 56 patients, and two patients from outside the Kingdom.
This initiative comes to ease the burden on hospitals for patients whose health conditions do not require them to go to hospitals and respond to their consultations at home, especially in light of the precautionary measures implemented by the Ministry of Health to confront the outbreak of the novel coronavirus pandemic. Many doctors from the college in various specialties were keen to participate in this initiative, and 8 male and female employees from the college's administrative staff participated in managing the virtual clinic, with the aim of participating in helping the community and facilitating access to medical consultations without having to go to the hospital and treating cases that do not require hospitalization, as well as
