The Higher Student Committee holds its meeting under the chairmanship of the UQU President to discuss a number of proposals

His Excellency Prof. Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, President of the University, presided over the meeting of the Higher Student Committee at the University on Tuesday, 1/7/1441 AH, in the presence of the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Ali Al-Aqlaa, who presented a report on all the issues that were presented at the previous meeting and how to address them.

 

During the meeting, a number of topics and proposals raised by the university students were also discussed on the agenda. The UQU President emphasized that this committee was established to produce positive results regarding the topics presented to it, pointing out that students are partners in making decisions. His Excellency also congratulated the students on what has been achieved in the past period since the previous meeting until this meeting, at various local and international levels, which is a pride for all university affiliates, pointing to the great leap achieved in the subject of moving from rented buildings to new buildings in Unaiza and Al-Ras governorates, and this is thanks to M....

 

The committee also discussed the advantages of e-courses, as well as allowing graduates to access the university website after graduation, where UQU President noted that there is a special office to link graduates by utilizing the library and various services, in addition to discussing the transition of some colleges to new buildings and projects under construction, and discussing absence rates, where UQU President explained that the issue was raised at the University Council and the Council did not approve it after the members' vote, and after reviewing the first semester report, it became clear that the percentage of discipline and output increased, and this decision turned out to be correct.

 

The committee also discussed the language of teaching in the College of Economics and Administration to English, the provision of meals at late times, where His Excellency directed the idea of establishing mobile food carts to serve students at late times, in addition to the investment of university facilities, and a number of related issues, which were answered. His Excellency also confirmed that this meeting will be held after a month with the participation of the Supervisor of the General Administration of Projects and the Dean of Admission and Registration to answer students regarding buildings and projects, and regarding admission and registration.

 

The Higher Student Committee at the university aims to involve male and female students in discussing student issues, identifying their rights and duties, participating in decision-making, discussing the topics referred to the Higher Committee from the sub-committees in the colleges, following up on the implementation of the decisions reached, and discussing student issues that students submit to the deans of their colleges and are considered to be presented to the council.
