Yesterday, Wednesday, 25/6/1441 A.H., the College of Engineering at Qassim University, in cooperation with the Engineers Authority in Qassim region, held a scientific seminar entitled "The importance of quality and inspection methods in construction projects according to the Saudi Building Code", in the presence of the Dean of the College, Dr. Meshaal bin Ibrahim Al-Mashaikh, and the Chairman of the Coordinating Committee of the Engineers Authority in Qassim region, Engineer Hani Al-Duwayan, in the presence of more than 15 representatives of government and private sectors of the region and more than 180 interested people and students.
By holding such specialized seminars, in cooperation with its partners from the government and private sectors, the college seeks to contribute to raising the quality and safety of all construction projects, as part of the college's community participation to ensure the safety and quality of facilities, by hosting specialized speakers to run such seminars and scientific forums and ensure that engineers and specialists keep abreast of developments and practices in the engineering field.
At the beginning of the seminar, Dr. Majid bin Fadhi Al-Enezi delivered a speech during which he spoke about the importance of quality and inspection methods in construction projects according to the Saudi Building Code, explaining the importance of quality in projects, and reviewing the different inspection methods that have sustainability and maintain the safety of the project.
The second theme of the seminar, presented by Colonel Mohammed bin Jazi Al-Otaibi, Director of the Safety Department at the Civil Defense Directorate in Qassim, dealt with the requirements of safety and fire protection plans according to the Saudi building code, where he explained the importance of the requirements of the Saudi code for safety and protection. In the third theme, Engineer Elias bin Ibrahim Al-Suwaina from the Saudi Code Department at the Municipality of Qassim Region spoke about the municipal procedures for applying the code and the impact of the code on construction in the Kingdom, explaining all the procedures required for construction in the Kingdom, and then the audience intervened and answered them from the speakers.
