The fourth Gulf Programming Competition (GPC) is an opportunity for students majoring in computer science and engineering and information technology to demonstrate their skills in programming and problem solving, as well as meet with students from other related institutions, as this competition is the difference to the ACM Programming Competition, which is held at the American University in Dubai.Regional and global.
A total of 46 teams from different Gulf universities (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman) participated in the competition, and the College of Computing team from Qassim University (consisting of students: Abdulaziz Al-Jumaili, Suhaib Al-Ghatim and Abdulrahman Al-Othaim, led by Dr. Sameh Awaida) It is noteworthy that the Imam University team won the second place among the Saudi teams and the 24th place at the Gulf level. The King Faisal University team won the third place among the Saudi teams and the 29th place in the Gulf. The King Saud University team came in fourth place among the participating Saudi teams and ranked 30th among the 46 participating Gulf teams.
The team members thanked His Excellency the President of Qassim University, Dr. Khalid Al-Hamoudi, for his support, encouragement and care for talented and distinguished students. The team members also thanked the Dean of the College of Computing, Dr. Abdullah Al-Shoushan, for his support and standing with the representative of Qassim University, and the team thanked the Deanship of Student Affairs and all those who contributed and supported the team to participate in this international competition.
