Qassim University received the official institutional academic accreditation from the National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment (NCAAA), where the university received the accreditation letter, which stipulates that the university will be accredited by the Commission until 2017.
Thus, Qassim University is the third Saudi university to be institutionally accredited after King Saud and King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, an achievement that reflects the development and growth of the university in its first decade since its establishment in 2004.
His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Khaled bin Abdulrahman Al-Hamoudi, expressed his great happiness for this achievement, which he stressed that it was achieved only by the grace of God and then thanks to the concerted efforts of all university employees, including deans and deans of colleges and supporting deanships, faculty members, department directors, male and female employees, male and female students, university graduates, the community of the region in general, and everyone who contributed to achieving this achievement.
His Excellency pointed out that this achievement would not have been achieved without the great support of the leadership of this blessed country headed by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Highness the Crown Prince, His Highness the Deputy Crown Prince, the follow-up and support of His Highness the Emir of Qassim Region and His Highness the Deputy Emir of Qassim Region, as well as the interest and keenness of the Minister of Higher Education and his deputy to advance the wheel of Saudi universities to achieve the desired goals in order to build qualified national scaffolds to advance our dear country in all fields.
The UQU Vice President for Planning, Development and Quality, Prof. Dr. Sulaiman bin Abdulaziz Al-Yahya, congratulated this achievement to His Excellency the UQU President, his vice presidents, all its employees and the region's community in general, stressing that the university completed the stages of institutional accreditation after a great effort in which everyone participated, pointing out that obtaining the national academic accreditation is an indicator of the quality of the educational process in the accredited body, as it is an objective certificate of the quality of education in this body, the excellence of its scientific level, and the availability of components and requirements that ensure quality and excellence. This, in turn, will reflect on the community's confidence in this entity and its outputs. Because of the importance of this issue, the administration of Qassim University is determined to adopt this concept and obtain academic accreditation as a means of upgrading the university and moving it from a regional university to an international university - God willing - through the application of local and international evaluation and accreditation systems and standards, considering accreditation as an important step to move forward in emphasizing quality and upgrading the university and its excellence, God willing, stressing that the university will not stop at the accreditation step, which is undoubtedly a qualitative leap for the university and a worthy achievement for all but will be a motivation to exert more effort to upgrade the university towards the ranks of advanced universities in the Kingdom and beyond.
