The campaign provided services to about 600 students and 30 teachers, where 129 cases were detected among students for unknowingly having visual issues and were referred to the university's optometry department clinics for further testing and follow-up, while treatment services were provided to teachers and employees at the convoy site.
For his part, Dr. Khalid bin Saleh Al-Lamilam, Head of the Community Service Unit at the College of Applied Medical Sciences, explained that these specialized convoys conduct a medical survey of the eyesight of school students, especially primary schools, to identify those who have poor vision, and ask the school administration and their parents to review the clinical optics clinics located in the College's Optometry Department.
