His Excellency the President of Qassim University, Prof. Dr. Khalid bin Abdulrahman Al-Hamoudi, said on the occasion of the issuance of the state's general budget for the fiscal year 1435-1436 AH: We thank God Almighty for the blessings bestowed on our dear country, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, of security, faith and stability, and then the blessings of prosperity, abundance and continued economic growth under the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques with the world suffering from financial, economic, security and political issues, as global economic data showed the progress of the Saudi economy in terms of performance in the Group of Twenty in recent years. The Kingdom's estimated budget for the fiscal year 1435-1436 AH, which was issued by royal decrees recently, and the accompanying clarifications in the Ministry of Finance's statement, which indicated surpluses in the balance of payments and a decrease in public debt, are among the signs of the development of the Saudi economy's performance. The Saudi economy achieved an actual surplus for the current fiscal year 1434-1435H, amounting to 206 billion riyals in light of a significant increase in actual revenues compared to the budget estimate by 36%. In the budget for the next fiscal year 1435-1436H, support for completing infrastructure, promoting sustainable development, improving government services, and increasing job opportunities for Saudi citizens will continue. Support for the public and higher education sector and manpower training also continued to focus, with 210 million riyals allocated to this sector, accounting for 25% of the budgeted expenditures, an increase of 3% over what was allocated in the 1434-1435H budget. His Excellency added: The University of Qassim had a large share in this year's budget, as it was allocated 2,565,440,000 riyals, an increase of more than 9% over the current fiscal year. The university benefited from the current fiscal year 1434-1435 H in completing the infrastructure of the university city and college buildings in the governorates, with a focus on implementing the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in improving women's colleges and quickly building additional urgent buildings to accommodate the increasing number of female students. God willing, this trend will be completed in the budget of the next fiscal year to provide a suitable educational environment for male and female students, while continuing to develop the workforce and improve the educational process to achieve the strategy of Qassim University in creating a suitable educational environment in light of sustainable development with the region's community.
On this occasion, on behalf of all university staff, we extend our thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Highness the Crown Prince and His Highness the Second Deputy for their patronage of Qassim University and its staff, with the promise to fulfill their aspirations in utilizing the budget allocations to continue improving the quality of the educational process offered to male and female students. We also extend our sincere thanks to His Highness the Emir of Qassim and His Highness the Deputy Emir for their continuous support to the university and sponsoring its events and activities. In conclusion, we thank His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and his deputy for supporting the university to achieve the goals of higher education in the Kingdom.
