His Excellency Prof. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, UQU President, received the annual report of the Scientific Council Secretariat for the academic year 1439-1440 A.H., yesterday, Monday, 1/2/1441 A.H., in the presence of His Excellency the UQU Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Ahmed Al-Turki, and members of the Secretariat.
During the meeting, the UQU President emphasized that the Secretariat of the Scientific Council has proven its excellence in accomplishing its work through numbers, presentation of topics and accuracy, with regard to the promotions of faculty members, congratulating the university on the presence of the Secretariat of this Council and its members, pointing out that everyone has witnessed the excellence of scientific research through the great leaps made by the Council, in addition to the speedy completion of promotions, which is a constant concern for faculty members, as the mechanism on which the Scientific Council now relies is done quickly, while maintaining the importance of producing a distinguished product.
Al-Dawood praised the speed of the promotion procedures for faculty members, which does not exceed a few weeks, unlike what was previously the case, in addition to the council's secretariat regarding the confidentiality and preservation of information, saying: We are truly proud of the performance of the Scientific Council, and we look forward, God willing, to more and better, and to be able to develop the work to become fully electronic, praying to God for success and success for all.
For his part, Dr. Abdullah bin Muhammad Al-Ghadouni, Secretary of the Scientific Council, explained that during the academic year, the Council completed more than 430 topics related to faculty appointments, scientific promotions, scientific sabbatical, scientific excellence awards, sabbatical applications, scientific communication, authorship and translation. He pointed out that the Scientific Council consists of four permanent committees that meet weekly, and the achievement rate compared to the previous three years reached more than 60% in some areas.
He added that the annual report delivered to the UQU President included the most important qualitative initiatives in the administrative development of the Scientific Council Secretariat. The Scientific Council Secretariat has completed the process of analyzing all tasks and transactions for electronic transformation, which will be launched soon, God willing. The report also included a brief summary of the first meeting of the Scientific Council Secretaries, which the university was honored to hold.
