The Leadership and Capacity Development Center holds a program to prepare new faculty members

The university, represented by the Center for Leadership and Capacity Development, implemented the orientation program for new faculty members today, Wednesday, 5/1/1441 AH, for two days. The program was held at the center's premises in the Hall of Excellence for men and the Hall of Development for women, with the participation of 75 faculty members of both sexes from various university colleges.
 
The program began with a welcome to new faculty members, introducing them to the duties of new university staff by the Deanship of Faculty and Staff Affairs, as well as scientific research standards, mechanisms, and methods, quality and accreditation standards at the university, in addition to library research methods, and the scientific duties of faculty members and regulations and procedures by the Secretariat of the Scientific Council. The program also includes a tour of the university's facilities, the university library and its facilities, and landmarks of Qassim, in addition to a visual presentation on Blackboard and how to use it, and legal culture.
 
Dr. Mune'a Mohammed Al-Mune'a, the General Supervisor of the Leadership and Capabilities Development Center, explained in his welcoming speech to the new members that the University's Leadership and Capabilities Development Center contributes to achieving the university's vision and implementing its mission and goals within the framework of its established values. The center works to implement programs derived from the actual needs of university employees, to support their efforts, enrich their capabilities, and improve their performance, based on a knowledge base drawn from scientific and technological advancements and growing knowledge accumulation in all fields. Therefore, an integrated system of programs has been built that can be implemented within the framework of operational capabilities and the imperative to benefit from them.
 
Al-Mani" added that this program comes under the directives of His Excellency Professor Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, and the university's vice presidents, with the aim of preparing faculty members. This initiative stems from the center's slogan, "Development is our responsibility, excellence is our goal, and we meet to ascend." This slogan has been translated into an integrated training program for the university's faculty members, drawing its features from leading scientific writings, innovative training experiences, sincere national expertise, and pressing educational needs. He prayed to God for success and guidance for all faculty members in serving their religion and their country.
 
It is mentioned that the center will hold a training program for new faculty members next Sunday, corresponding to 09/01/1441 AH, until Thursday, for a period of five days. The program will discuss theories of university education and teaching, as well as issues of university learning and education, continuous improvement ("Kaizen"), the faculty member's mission and roles, the natural learning cycle, media engagement skills, the formulation of achievement tests, a visual and practical presentation on Blackboard, as well as affirming the program quality system, electronic skills in scientific research, the formulation of learning outcomes and their measurement tools, effective university teaching skills, and learning outcomes and the quality of university teaching.
