30 students from the Department of Veterinary Medicine at the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine at the University participated in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's project to utilize the Hedi and Adahi carcasses during the Hajj season, by examining all incoming cows to Al-Mu'asim (4) slaughterhouse for cows and camels, in addition to examining the carcasses of Hedi, Adahi, Fidya and Sadaqa during Eid Al-Adha until the sunset of the third day of the Days of Tashriq.
The students were divided into two groups to complete the task of examining the carcasses of Hedi, Adahi, Fidya and Sadaqa in the best way possible. Throughout the days of Eid, they routinely examined the carcasses to judge whether they were fit for human consumption or not, through a special shift for the two groups during this period.
The veterinary students had performed the tasks assigned to them at the slaughterhouse from the beginning of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah until the end of the Hajj work on the thirteenth day of the same month, with the supervisor, the professor of meat health and safety at the Department of Veterinary Medicine, which consisted of visual inspection of all cows coming to the slaughterhouse and allowing only those animals that are legally and veterinarily slaughtered, as university students participate every year in this project since the beginning of its work.
