After meeting the requirements of more than 26,000 applicants. Admission of 14,800 students in various majors for the next year at the university

The Deanship of Admission and Registration at the university announced the admission of 14,800 male and female students to join the university in the next academic year 1441 AH, after completing the screening process and meeting the conditions of admission from more than 26 thousand applicants. 6750 male and 8050 female students, distributed among 44 majors for men and 62 majors for women, were admitted to study in all 38 colleges of the university in 21 campuses in different governorates of the region.

The Dean of the Deanship of Admission and Registration at the university, Dr. Fahad bin Sulaiman Al-Ahmad, explained that the application was done technically through the link of the deanship in the university's electronic portal during the period from 12:00 pm on Monday, 14/10/1440 A.H. until 10:00 am on Sunday, 20/10/1440 A.H. The male and female applicants entered their civil registration number, then selected their desires from the available specializations, while the rest of the applicants' data was obtained from the relevant authorities.

Al-Ahmad pointed out that the deanship held an exhibition at the university for a week to introduce the steps of admission to the university, the application mechanism and the available majors, in which it received more than 6,000 students from 28 secondary schools in the region. The deanship also conducted a number of field visits to some educational centers in the region and social committee centers, where students were gathered to introduce them to the nature of study at the university level and what distinguishes it from public education, as well as explaining the admission mechanism and procedures and the process of choosing desires when opening the admission portal, in addition to educating and guiding male and female students on how to choose the desired majors.

The Dean of Admission and Registration pointed out that during the application period, the deanship guided male and female applicants to important links that include a brochure on the admission mechanism at the university, the most important conditions and majors available at the university, the screening mechanism, and the mechanism for determining the path and major after the preparatory year, in addition to guiding them to a link that includes determining the actual place of study by using the electronic GPS system (GBS).

He stressed that the university did its best throughout the admission period and until the end of the screening to overcome the obstacles faced by male and female applicants, as it allocated an experienced and competent team that responded to inquiries and doubts received through the applicant's electronic page or through the university's official account in "Twitter" or the account of the Deanship of Admission and Registration or through "WhatsApp" service for the announced numbers, indicating that the screening processes for all applicants for admission to the university were done automatically without manual intervention according to two criteria:

The first criterion: The weighted ratio is calculated as follows:

(GPA x 0.30) + (General Aptitude Test score x 0.30) + (Achievement Test score x 0.40), which is a requirement for admission for all female students wishing to enroll in the university as well as students wishing to enroll in the preparatory year, the College of Agriculture and the scientific departments in the faculties of science and arts.

Second criterion: The equivalent ratio is calculated as follows:

(GPA x 0.50) + (General Aptitude Test score x 0.50), which is a condition for the admission of the rest of the students.

He added that admission this year began in a number of new majors, namely the Cybersecurity Diploma in the Community Colleges in Buraidah and Unaiza for male and female students, as well as allowing admission to the history and geography majors in the College of Science and Arts in Buraidah, as well as the sports and movement sciences major in the College of Education, adding that in line with the policy of the Ministry of Education, this year admission to the kindergarten major was stopped in all campuses of the university, and also continued to stop admission to the affiliation system and basic education majors, in addition to continuing to limit the preparatory year to three campuses (headquarters - Unaiza - Rass).

Al-Ahmad explained that the deanship still receives any grievance that its owner believes he has a right to, and then considers it and communicates with its owner, as directed by the UQU President. The deanship, in communication with the university administration and the competent authorities, is still striving to provide a number of seats to accommodate the remaining non-admitted male and female students, and will communicate with them in order to provide seats.

Regarding the admission of scholarship students, "Al-Ahmad" explained that they are also subject to the rules and conditions approved by the University Council, and they were given the opportunity to apply at the same time the application for Saudis was opened, and the number of applications received through the portal for the internal scholarship reached about (2000), indicating that these applications will later be sorted and dealt with.
