His Excellency Prof. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, President of the University, received yesterday, Wednesday, 19/8/1440 A.H., a delegation from Al-Madinah Cement Company, led by the CEO, Engineer Saleh Al-Shabnan. His Excellency welcomed the visitors and reviewed the results of the meetings held by the delegation during their visit to the University represented by the Center for Sustainable Development, and reviewed the areas of scientific and research cooperation that serve the environment in a sustainable perspective to achieve the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
The Center for Sustainable Development held a meeting chaired by the UQU Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Ahmed Al-Turki, with representatives of Medina Cement Company, to discuss aspects of cooperation in the field of research related to the cement industry, energy alternatives, sustainable waste management and environmental protection, in addition to a workshop where they reviewed the aspects of cooperation between the two sides in serving sustainability, environmental protection and energy alternatives, as well as reviewing the experience of Medina Cement in this field, and the Center presented its vision and strategy through which it seeks to enhance cooperation with government and private entities to achieve development in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The delegation also visited the College of Engineering building and was welcomed by the Dean of the College, Dr. Meshaal Al-Mashaigah, where a workshop was held between the two parties in the presence of a number of specialists at the college, during which they reviewed the current and future projects implemented by the two sides.
