His Excellency Prof. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, President of the University, affirmed that the fourth anniversary of the blessed pledge of allegiance to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz - may God protect him - comes in conjunction with the announcement of the largest spending budget in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in its history in an amount exceeding one trillion riyals for the fiscal year 2019, which reflects the strength and durability of the Saudi economy and the success of government measures and programs in diversifying sources of revenue and reducing dependence on oil; the participation of development funds and Public Investment Fund in capital and investment spending in excess of the volume of capital spending from the budget in the years
Al-Dawood explained that this blessed anniversary came this year following the generous royal visits made by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to a number of regions of the Kingdom, during which he kindly inspected the conditions of citizens, inaugurated, opened and laid the foundation stone for hundreds of developmental, mining and industrial projects, emphasizing the methodology of balanced development in the Kingdom, continuing to strengthen the national economy according to the Kingdom's Vision 2030 programs, in addition to the Kingdom's realization of more mega projects, and looking to the future to contribute to comprehensive and balanced development that exploits the resources, potential and wealth of this blessed country to benefit the nation and its people.
Al-Dawood said that this anniversary also comes days after the speech of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz - may God protect him - at the opening of the work of the third year of the seventh session of the Shura Council, which included a number of meanings and connotations that confirm that the Kingdom was founded on the Islamic approach that is based on the establishment of justice, and that it cherishes the efforts of the judiciary and public prosecution in performing the trust entrusted to them, and will not deviate from the application of the law of God and will not take the truth lightly, referring to the constants included in the Royal speech regarding the Kingdom's domestic and foreign policy and the Kingdom's pride in the developmental progress it is undergoing
His Excellency added: "Since King Salman - may Allah protect him - took over the reins of government in this dear homeland, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, he has been proceeding with a clear vision and a steady approach towards strengthening the causes of development, construction, security and stability for the country, based on a cumulative legacy of knowledge, expertise and experiences in managing the affairs of the country, whether in the aspect related to local administration and development, or those related to foreign policy affairs, and inspired by the steps, actions and positions of the founder King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman - may Allah bless him - which combines the school of the founder.
Al-Dawood explained that the vision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz - may God bless him - in the leadership and management of the state is evident in his wise directives to the members of the Council of Ministers who lead the executive management of the government, where he is keen to enhance confidence in the team members and verify the completion of the tasks assigned to the sectors they manage and grant them sufficient powers, including the support and confidence enjoyed by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense - may God protect him - in completing the tasks and responsibilities that he oversees, including his foreign responsibilities in promoting the Kingdom's relations with the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and other countries.
King Salman - may God protect him - was able to establish a new development vision that supports the new factors and realities of the Kingdom internally and externally, starting with the launch of the development vision project, which was based on the strengths of the Kingdom, represented in its position in the Islamic world and its role in the global sphere, its strategic location, its economic wealth, and its human resources," he added.
Al-Dawood pointed out that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman - may God protect him - led a strict and determined campaign against corruption, with the launch of the vision that was based on governance and transparency, believing that any development project will not achieve its goals and objectives except by uprooting corruption and addressing its causes, this campaign will bear fruit - God willing - by spreading a culture of integrity and preserving public money, and it will give the regulatory authorities a strong push to exercise their tasks and fulfill their roles, and establish a new culture in government and private sector work.
