This course aims to introduce the concept and importance of physiological responses to exercise, understand the aerobic and anaerobic energy production systems during athletic performance and their relationship to energy sources from food, study the physiological processes of nutrition from digestion to absorption and metabolism, explain nutritional strategies for optimal athletic performance, and understand the biochemical basis of nutrients and their relationship to exercise, along with understanding the body's thermoregulation and fluid balance and their relationship to exercise.
