Course Description: In this course, students will learn about the importance of the science of Jarh and Ta'deel (criticism and commendation of narrators), its Sharia controls, its origin and development, the methods of Imams in judging narrators, the types of their judgments and their ranks, how to act when they disagree, identifying confusion between narrators, its causes, its impact on judging the narrator, and methods of distinguishing narrators.
Credit hours: 3
Objectives of the course :

Students acquire critical skill, enabling them to reach the degree of a narrator worthy of consideration when critics disagree, by applying the rules of analysis to the critics' statements, or when there are no statements about the narrator, by applying the methods critics used in their judgments, and enabling them to master summarizing the narrator's biography and presenting it well to the reader, following the correct scientific methodology.

Defines the means and tools used by the imams of criticism in their judgments on narrators.
2- It mentions the terms used by critics to disqualify and qualify narrators, the ranks of these terms, and the ruling on the hadiths of narrators according to them.
Explains the rules and clues for favoring imams' sayings when they conflict regarding narrators.
4. Lists the ways the narrator's translation is presented, and the sayings of the Imams of criticism regarding it.
