The course aims for the student to learn about:
The concept of crisis, trauma, and catastrophe and the difference between each, gaining knowledge about the most important theories explaining crises and traumas and their various effects on individuals psychologically, cognitively, biologically, and neurologically, critical study of the most important roles of the counselor, their functions, and responsibilities in managing crises and traumas in the school community, application of interview skills and assessment processes used with individuals who experience trauma or crises, diagnosis and treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder, knowing the most important crisis and trauma intervention models.
The student's possession of knowledge and understanding of advanced terminology, concepts, and practices related to trauma and crisis counseling in the school community.
The student will become familiar with modern curricula, trends, and theories in the study of topics related to trauma and crisis counseling in the school community.
