Clinical Psychology

Course Description: This course introduces the definition and history of clinical psychology, as well as the roles of the clinical psychologist in the field. It also focuses on presenting methods of clinical psychological diagnosis and assessment, such as the clinical interview, case study, and writing psychological reports. The course also presents different types of clinical psychological scales and tests in the areas of intelligence, personality, and neuropsychological assessment. Furthermore, the course explains how to formulate a treatment plan and the most important modern treatments used in clinical psychology, along with presenting a number of research studies in the field that utilize programs based on these treatments for diverse populations and disorders.

Objectives of the course :

The main objective of the course is to:
* The student will learn the theoretical foundations of clinical psychology and its history, and the roles of the clinical psychologist.
* The student will learn diagnostic and assessment methods in clinical psychology. .
* The student familiarizes themselves with diagnostic and assessment skills, such as interviewing or writing a case study. .
* The student will practice applying a number of psychological scales and tests in the field of clinical psychology.
The student will become familiar with therapeutic methods used in clinical psychology.

Course outputs :

The student will become familiar with the concept of clinical psychology and identify the roles of a clinical psychologist.
To explain the diagnostic and clinical assessment methods.
The student compares the clinical approaches of old and modern theories in therapy.
The student will train to correct the results of some self-report and projective diagnostic measures and interpret them.
