Course Description: This course addresses the concept of behavioral and emotional disorders, theoretical perspectives explaining them, their classification, and prevalence rates in light of environmental, genetic, cultural, and familial determinants. It also covers early identification and assessment methods for individuals with behavioral and emotional disturbances, their behavioral and emotional characteristics, and some forms of behavioral and emotional disorders, including habit disorders, classroom behavior disorders, and language and speech disorders. Finally, it presents educational and therapeutic intervention strategies for individuals with behavioral and emotional disturbances.

Objectives of the course :

• Introduce students to the concept of behavioral and emotional disorders and their prevalence.
Defining behavioral disorders for students, their classifications, and their physiological, behavioral, psychological, cognitive, analytical, and dynamic causes, as well as the cognitive, intellectual, and social characteristics of behaviorally disordered individuals.
Introducing students to the most prominent theories and trends that have investigated the causes of behavioral and emotional disturbances.
• Introduce students to the measurement and diagnosis of behavioral and emotional disorders.
• Introduce students to early detection and assessment methods for behavioral and emotional disturbances.
Introduce students to the different forms of behavioral disorders, which are manifested in habit disorders, classroom behavior disorders, and language and speech disorders.
