Course Description: This course includes: Theoretical concepts in physiological psychology, the concept of the nervous system, its importance, functions, and components, the four cerebral lobes and the function of each lobe and the disorders resulting from any deficiency, the peripheral nervous system, the spinal cord, the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system, the glandular system and hormones, the visual and auditory systems, the brain and its electrical activity and types of waves emitted from it, the physiological basis of learning and memory, and the chemical and molecular basis of learning and memory.

Objectives of the course :

• The course aims to:
Students will be able to understand the concept of physiological psychology, its importance and fields, and the role of the nervous system in human behavior, learning, and memory.
• Students will be able to distinguish between the types and functions of neurons and the components of the nervous system.
Students will be able to infer disorders arising from dysfunction in different parts of the brain and identify emotional and affective manifestations and their physiological causes.
• Students will be able to distinguish the main role of the endocrine system in humans and its nature of work.
Students will be able to identify disorders that arise from brain wave disorders.
Students will be able to: define the nature of epilepsy and seizure types, and preventive measures for a patient with epilepsy.

To identify the functions of the nervous system and its different parts, and their role in human behavior.
To classify the most important diseases resulting from endocrine disorders.
The nervous system's role in learning and memory.
To distinguish between the functions of the cerebral lobes, their importance, and the most important disorders resulting from them.

To analyze methods of measuring brain activity and the most important tools used for this purpose.
