School Guidance and Counseling

Course Description: This course covers the concept of school psychological counseling and guidance, as well as important issues related to the educational process and how to address them through counseling. The course aims to increase the psychological specialist's awareness with a deep understanding of the concept of school counseling and guidance, the tasks, duties, and responsibilities of the school counselor, and the school counselor's role in guiding and counseling students. It also equips the student with information-gathering tools and counseling methods in school counseling and guidance, planning for a school counseling program, understanding ethical standards for school counselors, and studying practical examples of school psychological counseling with some cases of behavioral problems.

Objectives of the course :

Introduce students to school psychological guidance and counseling, its nature, and its terminology.
• Introducing students to the tasks, duties, responsibilities, and role of the school counselor in guiding and advising students.
• Introduce students to information gathering methods and guidance techniques in school counseling.
• Introduce students to planning and developing the school counseling program. .
Introduce students to how to handle different behavioral problem situations through practical examples.
