Labor and Social Insurance Law

Course Description: This course covers the legal foundations of labor law, explains its rules and methods for drafting employment contracts, and outlines the means for resolving labor disputes.
Credit hours: 3
Prerequisites: LAW 101
Objectives of the course :

The objective of this course is to introduce the student to the labor system and its scope of application, the formation of an employment contract (whether the worker is a national or a foreigner), and its effects on the employer and the worker, the termination of an employment contract, and methods for settling labor disputes. This course also aims to introduce the student to the social insurance system and the scope of application of its provisions, especially those related to work injuries, unemployment, old age, disability, and dismissal.

1- To know the terms and concepts related to the rules governing labor law and social insurance according to the provisions of Islamic Sharia, the Saudi system, and theories.
2- To describe the fundamental principles related to social insurance and labor relations (employment contract, its effects, and termination).
