Preparing a dissertation plan

Course Description: To understand the meaning of jurisprudential research, and the method of research in the books of early scholars and contemporary scholars, which equips the student with the ability to write jurisprudential research, and to critically analyze and formulate jurisprudential issues.

Credits: 2

Objectives of the course :

– Knowing how to prepare and construct a thesis plan, and how to search for credible sources to prepare the plan.
The ability to choose a topic, and how to prepare a plan that covers all its aspects.
– Acquiring skill and experience in how to choose a research topic and how to prepare its plan.

Course outputs :

Knowledge and understanding:
1- To review jurisprudential research methodologies and the procedures for preparing a thesis proposal.
2. To mention the stages and procedures for preparing the thesis plan.
Skills:
To illustrate the procedures for preparing a thesis plan.
2. To link the study of contemporary jurisprudential issues with the objectives of Islamic law.
Values, autonomy and responsibility:
1- Demonstrate Islamic principles and values in jurisprudential disagreement and dialog with others.
2- Practicing and managing teamwork efficiently and effectively.
3. To write a jurisprudential research paper according to scientific research methodology.

Each student will prepare a short research paper on a jurisprudential issue, applying the research methodologies they have studied. These papers will be exchanged among the students, and one or more workshops will be held to critique and evaluate the research. This research will be one of the assessment methods for the mid-term exams.
