Course Description: English Speaking Skills is an elective course worth two credit hours, taught in the third year, sixth level. This course provides students with the opportunity to practice speaking English in multiple contexts and situations, covering a diverse package of topics and forms of expression, whether formal or informal, planned or spontaneous, at an advanced level of language proficiency.

Objectives of the course :

The main goal of this course is:

  • In building students' oral communication and critical thinking skills, which are essential skills for dealing with a wide range of topics and situations.
  • These skills include: problem-solving, argumentation, defending opinions, reasoning, comprehension, analysis, as well as the use of formal academic English.
Course outputs :

Knowledge and understanding:

  • Demonstrate a precise understanding of the mechanisms of using spoken English in various tasks and communicative situations.
  • Demonstrate methodological knowledge that enables the student to manage and direct presentations, storytelling, or discussions on a specific topic in English.
