Course Description: The course includes the philosophy of higher education, its objectives, and its functions: teaching, scientific research, and community service. It also covers higher education systems and their various models at the regional and international levels. Furthermore, it examines the reality of higher education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, contemporary global changes such as globalization and the knowledge society and their implications for higher education. It will also delve into educational reform and innovation in higher education, explore some leading Arab and international experiences and models in higher education, and discuss the establishment and development of governmental and private higher education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Finally, it will provide future visions and prospects for higher education in the Kingdom. .

Objectives of the course :

The student should be familiar with the theoretical knowledge and basic concepts of higher education, its philosophy, objectives, and functions, its historical development in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its structure, reality, and problems, the competencies of higher education students in the 21st century, its foundations and types, and the educational innovations it has witnessed at the local and global levels.
