Course Description: Topics to be researched: • Issues and problems in Arabic language curricula related to: • The nature of language, its characteristics, and functions • Foundations for preparing Arabic language curricula • Standards for teaching and learning language skills • Weaknesses in teaching language skills • Issues related to developing Arabic language curricula: foundations, standards, and trends • Surveying the reality of Arabic language teaching curricula in the Kingdom, analyzing and critiquing some of them • Presenting solutions and proposals for development • Identifying global trends and standards for teaching and learning the mother tongue and developing its curricula.

Objectives of the course :

Course Objectives:
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
Developing scientific research skills in students concerning problems and issues in Arabic language curricula, their teaching, and learning.
2. Developing students' abilities to recognize recent educational research trends regarding the teaching and learning of Arabic language arts.
3. Developing students' abilities to analyze and critique educational research in the field of Arabic language teaching and learning.
4. Assisting students in acquiring the scientific foundations related to the construction, design, and development of Arabic language curricula.
5. Identifying trends in educational research for preparing and training Arabic language teachers.
6. Identifying recent global trends in mother tongue curriculum development, and monitoring the standards and foundations of this development.
7. Monitoring the problems and issues facing the reality of Arabic language education.
8. Dealing with various information sources in the field of scientific research.
9. Propose solutions and develop diverse visions for the development of Arabic language curricula.
