Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
1. Recognizes the philosophy of active learning.
Understands active learning strategies and procedures for their use in science teaching.
3. Plans science lessons using applied teaching methods for cognitive and constructivist learning theories and models: (Information processing, Marzano's Dimensions of Learning model...).
4. Recognizes applied models for e-learning and science education.
5. Employs technology in science teaching.
6. Differentiate between science teaching approaches: (Discovery approach, Inquiry approach, Mental operations approach, Concept approach).
7. Critiques models from curriculum and unit development experiences in science according to certain approaches: (Constructivist approach, Integrative approach, Integrative thematic approach, Life applications approach).
Units in science education are planned according to certain approaches.
After studying this course:
• Plans some science lessons using applied teaching methods based on cognitive and constructivist learning theories and models: (Information Processing, Marzano's Dimensions of Learning Model...).
• Critiques e-learning curriculum models.
• Analyzes science teaching approaches: (Discovery Approach, Inquiry Approach, Mental Processes Approach, Concepts Approach, Constructivist Approach, Integrated Approach, Integrated Thematic Approach, Life Applications Approach).
Critiques of models of curriculum and unit development experiences in science according to some approaches.
